چکیده
Objective: here was investigated the potential of phytoconstituents as cinnamaldehyde and α-terpineol denture cleansers, which evaluated antifungal activity, also their effect on color change poly(methyl)methacrylate (PMMA). Methodology: Candida albicans biofilms were formed PMMA specimens exposed a 10 minutes daily treatment with (10 mg/ mL), NaCl 0.9%, NaClO 1%. Biofilms collected, then analyzed cell viability (CFU/ metabolism (MTT), roughness. Moreover, variation during seven 14 days checked. Kruskal-Wallis, Mann Whitney, ANOVA one-way applied (α < 0.05). Results: decrease number viable cells compared to 0.9% by 76% 83.2%, respectively (p< Both substances reduce biofilm around 70% Also, showed low roughness, similar (p> 0.05), without changing acrylic resin Conclusion: α-terpineol, at concentration mL, shows activity C. free from surface changes. From clinical viewpoint, these have strong be incorporated into cleansers solutions.

This study evaluated color stability, surface roughness and flexural strength of acrylic resin specimens after immersion in alkaline peroxide and alkaline hypochlorite, simulating a period of one and a half year of use of overnight immersion. Sixty disc-shaped (16x4 mm) and 80 rectangular specimens (65x10x3.3 mm) were prepared from heat-polymerized acrylic resin (Lucitone 550) and distributed i...
متن کاملColor Stability of Heat-cure Acrylic Resin Subjected to Simulated Short-term Immersion in Fast-acting Denture Cleansers
BACKGROUND Regular usage of denture cleansers is recommended in complete denture wearers for effective plaque control, and these cleansers alter the physical properties of acrylic resin over a period of time. Thus, an in vitro study was carried out to assess the effect of denture cleansers on the color stability of heat-cure denture base resin. AIM The aim of the present study was to evaluate...
